The Patricia Madison Lusk Gallery
exhibits the oils, acrylics, and watercolors of Patricia Madison
Lusk. Her growing diverse body of work includes sea island
landscapes, often with egrets, herons, and other wildlife
punctuating the landscape.
Her large format color-filled images
capture the many moods of the marsh. She shares, "I am
not just painting a scene, but am more interested in how those
shapes relate to one another. I love the contrast of light
and dark and the emotions it evokes from the viewer."
Her series of "Koi Pond"
images reveals traffic jams of bright fish, their intense
oranges, golds and blacks twisting underwater, making harmony
of confusion. Her series of children can depict them staring
contemplatively out to sea or other times dancing gleefully
with an umbrella on a sunny day.
A colorist, Patricia is fascinated
by how the bright light makes the colors more vibrant and
how muted light softens the color to almost a whisper. A painter
of both, Patricia adds, "Sometimes we need to shout out
loud or just take time to be quiet."
